A place to stay and celebrate...
"Large enough for 2 families, cosy enough to relax in, and plenty of dining space together!"
Foxglove Cottage is a large, stylish cottage, sleeping 8-10 guests. It is beautifully furnished, and perfect for a family holiday or celebration.
Foxglove Cottage has four double bedrooms, three of which can be twin single beds. A family bathroom with shower over-bath and stylish shower room complete the first floor.
The large ground floor is perfect for family celebrations and group get togethers. The kitchen/ lounge/dining room has a contemporary kitchen with the latest appliances, including the all important dishwasher and microwave.
There is shared use of the laundry room at Standlow.
The terraced area is enclosed by a stone wall with a gated exit onto the country lane.
Traffic is at a minimum, as the lane is used mainly by guests of the cottages and farm vehicles from the neighbouring sheep farm.
At the rear of the cottages there is a climbing frame, slide and swings for the younger children, but also a wooden patio and garden furniture for relaxing.
Further into the garden there is also a grassed area for ball games. The garden is open planned but has wooden fence around it to stop the local sheep from visiting!

"The games room was a huge bonus"
by Claire - April 2017
We stayed at Foxglove Cottage from 30/03-03/04 as a base for Alton Towers. The cottage was perfect for 2 families with plenty of space. It was very clean and comfy and everything we needed was supplied, even tea & coffee! The games room was a huge bonus and kept the children (and the men) happy for hours in the evening! I would highly recommend Standlow Farm and we hope to return one day!
"Excellent place for a family weekend"
by Majors - Jan 2017
Just returned from a long weekend at Standlow farm. We stayed in The Barn, and Foxglove and Clover cottages and they were all beautifully decorated and had everything that you would need. We used the Games room, which unfortunatly was freezing (it was January!) but was a lot of fun with the table tennis, air hockey and pool tables. There are options in all of the cottages for either double or twin beds and enough clean and spacious bathrooms so there wasn't a wait. They also allow pets! The local area is gorgeous and great for walks, we even headed to the Red Lion pub just a short walk away for sunday lunch which was amazing and the staff were really accommodating!
"Lovely furniture and very comfortable"
by Kevin- Oct 2017
The cottage was just what we expected, all mod cons, lovely furniture, very comfortable, excellent views and plenty to do with access to the games room. We would have no hesitation in recommending Foxglove cottage to anyone visiting the area. We had a meal at the local pub which finished off this great weekend.
"Photos don't do it justice"
by Simon - Aug 2017
Foxglove was well equipped and spacious. Set in a quiet location with stunning views of the countryside. The kids loved the games room and the outdoor areas. It was especially great that there were lots to do in the area including Gulliver's Kingdom, Tissington cycle path, Carsington Water and the Tram Musuem which are all recommended places to visit. We will hopefully stay at the cottage again next year.
"Would definitely stay there again"
by Will - July 2018
A lovely self catering cottage, parking outside and not far from villages, pubs and restaurants. Easy to get into the cottage and wifi was fast. Bedrooms were all good sizes and very clean, bathrooms and kitchen also clean and worked well. Lorraine was our cleaner and she was great, also returning a wallet I left at the cottage. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed only 1 night but amazing cottage with 4 large bedrooms and large beds and 2 bathrooms. Beautiful view and setting. Very nicely decorated and equipped. Short walk to the nearest pub. Very comfortable beds. All in all very recommendable. The Games room (we didn't use) but is equipped with 2 full size pool table, Table Football, a ping pong table and one other game.
"Come and stay here"
by Julie- August 2018
Come and stay here!!! This is a fantastic cottage in a beautiful location with great facilities. Very well equipped and lots of useful information on what to do locally. We were a family of 4 and the kids (teenage) LOVED the games room. We had a few family battles of table tennis, table football and air hockey. They also appreciated the decent wifi (not always been the case in previous cottages we've stayed at). We would definitely return to explore more of the beautiful Peak District and will be recommending this place to friends and family. A really great property
"A really lovely cottage in a brilliant location"
by Lisa - August 2018
A really lovely cottage in a brilliant location. We booked originally for an Alton Towers visit and then wondered if it was a little too far away. It wasn't. Foxglove really was home from home for our family of 5 (children 11, 9 and 6). There wasn't anything we wanted for and the games room and play area are great too. For us it was home from home.Thank you so much for making our booking and stay at Foxglove Cottage one with comfort and ease. I didn't expect the extras such as dishwashing tablets, soap, toilet roll and towels but you really had thought of everything, including extra pillows which was great for me personally. We loved everything about Foxglove Cottage, location, layout, games room and play area, only thing we didn't like is we weren't there long enough as Alton Towers took us away for 2 long days. It really was home from home. Thank you.
