Travelling by Train

Derby is the main train station, situated 8 miles from Hollywood House and 10 miles from Standlow, Shiningford and Ashbourne Hall.
Midland Mainline from London St Pancras runs direct to Derby, or alternately Cross Country from Birmingham and Sheffield.

There is a taxi rank situated outside of Derby train station or you can prebook on the link below.
Ashbourne does not have a railway station but other surrounding villages do and these may be direct from your area.

Railway stations in and near Ashbourne

Belper Train Station – 2 miles from Hollywood House and 10 miles from Standlow, Shepherd’s View Lodge & Shiningford, 12 miles from Ashbourne Hall.
Idridgehay Railway Station – 4 miles from Hollywood House, 7  miles from Ashbourne Hall, and 4 miles from Standlow, Shepherd’s View Lodge & Shiningford.

Wirksworth Railway Station – 6 miles from Hollywood House, 8 miles from Ashbourne Hall, and 4 miles from Shiningford, Shepherd’s View Lodge & Standlow.

Uttoxeter Railway Station – 10 Miles from Ashbourne Hall, 13 miles from Standlow, Shepherd’s View Lodge & Shiningford, and 17 miles from Hollywood House.

Cromford Railway Station – 10 Miles from Ashbourne Hall, and 6 miles from Shiningford, Standlow, Shepherd’s View Lodge and Hollywood House.

Matlock Bath Railway Station – 10 Miles from Ashbourne Hall, 7 miles from Shiningford, Shepherd’s View Lodge & Standlow, and 8 miles from Hollywood House.

Travelling by bus to our wonderful venues

Buses offer a great way to ease your journey.

For all our venues, make your way to Derby Bus Station and then take the following buses to the venues:

For Ashbourne Hall, Standlow, Shepherd’s View Lodge and Shiningford – take a Trent Barton/Swift  bus from Derby to Ashbourne (30 mins).

From Ashbourne to Shepherd’s View Lodge – Take a 110/111 heading to Matlock and get off either just before entering Kniveton village, or by Kniveton Village School.

From Ashbourne to Standlow – Take a 110/111 heading to Matlock and get off at Kniveton village on the road running out of  the village.

From Ashbourne to Shiningford – Take a 110/111 heading to Matlock and get off at the entrance to Carsington village and cross the road to Sheepwash Car Park.

From Ashbourne to Ashbourne Hall – from Ashbourne Bus Station, walk through the centre of Ashbourne and take the main road heading to Cokayne Avenue and Ashbourne Park.

 

For Hollywood House – Take the Trent Barton 6.1 to Bakewell which passes through Belper and then onto Blackbrook. Get off the bus at the end of Longwalls Lane/Plains Lane.

Local taxi companies

Many of these companies can offer minibuses or small coaches to help with larger numbers. They should all be booked in advance.
Remember with our venues, Shiningford & Hollywood House, full size coaches cannot get access.
