Ashbourne Hall, Standlow and Shiningford all offer dog-friendly accommodation, so you can bring your pooch along on the family holiday. There are a plethora of stunning dog walks around the Peak District, with plenty of pet-friendly cafes along the way. Here are a few of our favourite dog-friendly spots in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas to visit during your stay:

     1. Mercia Marina – Willington

Take the dogs for a walk around Willington Lake, and visit the lively boardwalk for shops and cafes.

     2. The Miners Arms – Carsington

The Miners Arms is a pet-friendly pub in Carsington, with huge Sunday roasts and a recently renovated interior. Best of all, it is within walking distance of Shiningford.

     3. Church Farm Tea Rooms – Burton-Upon-Trent

Church Farm offers a day out for all the family; it has a children’s farm and welcomes dogs (on leads!).

     4. Whytes Coffee House – Tutbury

Whytes is a stylish coffee shop that is dog-friendly and serves up delicious food.

     5. Hackwood Farm – Radbourne

The tea room at Hackwood Farm is excellent value and serves local produce, which you can also pick up to take home from the farm shop.

     6. Elvaston Castle – Elvaston

Elvaston Castle Country Park is well known for being a pet-friendly spot, as long as you keep them away from the nature reserve. It encompasses 321 acres of historic gardens, woodland and open parkland, which are open all year round.

     7. Denstone Farm Shop – Denstone

This one isn’t technically in Derbyshire, but is brilliant if you’re driving towards Ashbourne from the North and want a stop-off before you get to our holiday cottages. The farm shop has a cafe, with an outdoor seating area that is heated and allows dogs.
