The Miners Arms is a pet-friendly pub in Carsington, with huge Sunday roasts and a recently renovated interior. Best of all, it is within walking distance of Shiningford.
Church Farm offers a day out for all the family; it has a children’s farm and welcomes dogs (on leads!).

The tea room at Hackwood Farm is excellent value and serves local produce, which you can also pick up to take home from the farm shop.
Elvaston Castle Country Park is well known for being a pet-friendly spot, as long as you keep them away from the nature reserve. It encompasses 321 acres of historic gardens, woodland and open parkland, which are open all year round.
This one isn’t technically in Derbyshire, but is brilliant if you’re driving towards Ashbourne from the North and want a stop-off before you get to our holiday cottages. The farm shop has a cafe, with an outdoor seating area that is heated and allows dogs.
